The ten commandments are a standout feature that sets them apart from competition. Some of these include, have courage, keep commitments, and expectations = reality. The time and effort that upper management has put into the culture and core competencies shows in their multiple awards for excellence. Another aspect that Epic has mastered is the recruitment of their employees, starting at top-tier university for qualified graduates. Once they have great new hires, then comes a rigorous training and orientation to instill the companies principles and commandments. A businesses culture is tied to implementation of strategy because whatever "soul" upper management has agreed on will be portrayed through the employees. It is crucial to look for employees that already have the morals and culture that the business has, so that positive peer pressure is carried on.
