IT strategy requires strong IT leadership

Strategic business objectives are tangible, quantifiable goals that companies create to reach the next level of their growth. Senior management creates these objectives to drive all levels of the company and set individual mandates. When each individual responsibility is aggregated, the company can achieve its overall goals. These benchmarks also help the company understand if they are reaching the standards they set for themselves.

There are various benefits of IT strategic plan implementation as it enhances the value of the product as well as creating value for the organization. These benefits are driven by different factors that are related to operational, financial and sustainability factors.

Executing an IT strategy requires strong IT leadership; the chief information officer (CIO) and chief technology officer (CTO) need to work closely with business, budget and legal departments as well as with other lines of business and user group to achieve its success.
IT strategy is a comprehensive plan that outlines how technology should be used to meet IT and business goals. An IT strategy, also called a technology strategy or IT/technology strategic plan, is a written document that details the multiple factors that affect the organization's investment in and use of technology.
