According to Strebel (1996), majority of employees tend to resist change. So, to some extent, I agree with your note about employee training. The training in general should not go far from simple tedious tasks existing with trainers. For example, it is possible to automate one tedious task in one of the courses such that employees sense the benefits gained out of IT implementation. They should understand that IT will facilitate existing tasks and diverts attention to other complicated and need to upgrade tasks.
Ullah and Lai (2011), sustaining Business IT alignment is a complex task, therefore, lack of IT knowledge in the business is a factor to consider. Stakeholders do not have enough IT knowledge. So it is important to convey the message of the importance of IT alignment with business strategies. ROI out of IT implementation is sometimes not understood thoroughly. Thus, the tangible and intangible rewards from IT alignment with business goals need to be articulated.
